Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data TV Math collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

TV Math is a collaborative movie and TV watchlist service operated by Choreostream Labs, LLC (“TV Math,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a North Carolina limited liability company. This Privacy Policy applies to the TV Math website at tvmath.com and the TV Math iOS app. We operate TV Math from the United States, and account data is stored in the United States. Email is sent through Brevo, a company based in the European Union.

Data we collect

  • Account information — your email address, display name, username, and profile picture. You can create an account with email and a password, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Apple. We receive the email, name, and profile photo those providers share with us. We also store the time zone reported by your browser so weekly and monthly emails use your local dates, and a rough timestamp of when you last opened TV Math.
  • Watchlist content — the titles, ratings, tags, watch progress, episode tracking, and watchlists you create or join.
  • Addresses you enter for other people — an email address you type to invite someone to a watchlist is stored with that invitation until you delete your account or, if they have an account, until they delete theirs. An email address you type only to share a title is used to send that message and is not stored on your account. Our email provider receives the address either way.
  • Website analytics — on tvmath.com we use Google Analytics, through Firebase, to see how the site is used. That includes a cookie, device and browser information, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not attach this data to your TV Math account. The iOS app does not use it.
  • Error reports — if the app hits an error, we may store the error message, the page address, your browser type, and your account id when you are signed in. We delete these reports when you delete your account.
  • Push notification token — on iOS, if you allow notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token so we can tell you about watchlist activity: invites, shares, ratings, titles added or moved, completed shows, access changes, and alerts when a show you track has news, such as a new season, a premiere date, or a renewal or cancellation. We remove the token when you sign out. If that removal does not finish in time, we drop the token the next time a notification to it fails.
  • AI requests — when you use an AI feature, we send Google Gemini either public title information (such as a name, synopsis, or cast list) or a summary of your viewing: counts, hours, and genres, not the list of titles. We store a log of the request, including your email, username, and the prompt and response, and we delete that log when you delete your account.
  • Subscription and payment identifiers — see the next section. We never receive or store full payment card numbers.

Subscriptions and payments

TV Math offers an optional paid Premium subscription. We use third-party providers to process payments and manage subscriptions, and we never see or store your full payment card number.

  • RevenueCat orchestrates subscriptions across platforms. It receives your TV Math account ID and subscription receipt data so we can determine your plan. It does not receive your payment card number.
  • Stripe processes web subscriptions. When you subscribe on the web, Stripe collects your payment card details and email address directly; TV Math receives only the resulting subscription status, not your card number.
  • Apple processes in-app subscriptions on iOS. Purchases are handled by Apple under your Apple ID and device, per Apple’s normal App Store flow; TV Math receives only the resulting subscription status.

Third-party services

We rely on the following service providers to operate TV Math:

  • Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, push messaging (FCM), and website analytics.
  • Google — Sign in with Google, and Gemini for AI features such as tag suggestions, cast summaries, and a short viewing bio. If you keep a Google profile photo, your browser loads that image from Google.
  • Brevo — email delivery. Messages can include titles, watch progress, and the sender’s display name.
  • Dicebear — a generated initials picture when you have not set your own. The picture address includes your display name, and a browser that shows the picture sends that name to Dicebear.
  • TMDB — movie and TV metadata, artwork, and related information. This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
  • RevenueCat — cross-platform subscription management.
  • Stripe — web payment processing.
  • Apple — iOS in-app purchases and Sign in with Apple.

How we use your data

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the TV Math service.
  • Enable collaboration: shared watchlists, invitations, and sharing a title with someone.
  • Process subscriptions and determine your plan entitlement.
  • Send notifications in the app, by push on iOS, and by email. Engagement email is described under Your rights.
  • Generate AI features you choose to use.
  • Understand how the website is used, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with the service providers listed above as needed to operate TV Math, and as required by law.

  • People you add to a watchlist can see that list, including ratings and watch progress on it.
  • When you invite someone by email, the message includes your display name and email address.
  • When you share a title, the recipient can see that title. An email share also includes your display name, your rating, and how far you have watched. It does not include your email address, and it is sent even if the recipient has no TV Math account.
  • Your display name, username, and profile photo can be read by other signed-in users, so they can invite you or see who rated a title. Your email address is not part of that profile, and the list of profiles is not browsable.

Data security

Your data is stored using industry-standard encryption and security practices provided by our infrastructure partners. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and review our practices regularly.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Deletion removes your TV Math account and authentication record, watchlists that only you belong to, your membership in shared watchlists, your ratings and other personal fields on titles in those shared lists, your notifications, preferences, profile photo, error reports, and AI logs. After deletion, the email address can be used to create a new account.

A shared watchlist is not deleted. If you own it, ownership passes to another member. Titles on that list remain, and episode progress on a shared list remains, because the list stores one shared record of which episodes have been watched.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription. Cancel it in the App Store, or in your web billing settings, before you delete the account. Apple, Stripe, and RevenueCat keep the payment record. We also keep limited records required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes, including abuse-prevention counters stored by IP address rather than by account.

Separately, we automatically delete in-app notifications older than 90 days, along with our record of news about the titles you track — new seasons, premiere dates, renewals — which we keep for the same 90 days so your weekly digest can recap it. Notifications still awaiting your response — a pending watchlist invitation or a shared title — are kept until you act on them.

Your rights

  • Access the data associated with your account. Email us and we will look it up. There is no download button in the app.
  • Correct your display name, username, and profile picture from your profile.
  • Delete your account and the data described above.
  • Turn engagement email off from Profile → Email Notifications. New accounts start with these on: a weekly digest, reminders about shares and invites, critical title alerts, and a monthly viewing recap. Verification and password-reset emails stay on, because they are part of the account.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@tvmath.com.

Children's privacy

TV Math is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
